Compare the following photos.
Of course you see the most blatant difference.
It jumps off the screen and it constitutes one of The Prude’s
biggest beefs with the 21st century.
Televisions are no longer pieces of furniture. They are space age bubbles.
Ever tried to balance a vase of dried flowers on a bubble?
The TV in the top photo had not yet evolved into the half-acre TV/stereo combinations
of the 1960’s.
The Prude has seen a gross of china pugs fit on one of these sets.
But the top photo television can still hold a flower vase, clock, and a huge paper clip with no crowding or jostling.
Alternately, the TV on the bottom requires duct tape to keep decorations from sliding off.
And of course you took note of the astounding similarity between the two photos.
Neither couple can find anything worth watching.
