Having my cake and eating it too

Poor me. Our day at a lovely cottage coincided with my niece's dance recital. What to do?
What any spoiled, self-indulgent person would do– figure out a way to do both.
So I went to her dress rehearsal.
Yes, it was long. Lots of light checks and do-overs.
But it was free and I could snap photos to my heart's content.
More fun than one spoiled woman should be allowed to have.
4:25. Dress rehearsal is about to begin

Sound check

Look at those graceful hands

Teeny, tiny,

ballerinas

Blue eye shadow used to be my favorite too

Exit with attitude

A literal interpretation of a song called 'I Whip My Hair'

Sometimes the hair falls off all together

In another minute they would be mashing potato and doing the twist

My niece loves these boots. But she has to remove the taps before her dad will let her wear them at home.

Showing the love at Grand Finale practice

4 hours, 240 pictures, and a whole lot of fun later.

Thanks for bringing me along, Prude--I would have missed it otherwise!

I love all the color in the costumes and how much you love your niece. Thanks for sharing it all with us, Prude.

You are a sweet auntie and took fantastic photos. At least those of the 240 I have seen!
